St Stephens Street - bus stop suspension
St Stephens Street - routes 1, 3, X3, 4, 4A, 6, 84 will not serve bus stops on St Stephens Street from Saturday 8th January for approx 9 months during Transforming Cities work. Please use alternative stops at Norwich Bus Station. Routes 11B and 5B will continue to serve Castle Meadow and also Norwich Bus Station (stand F for route 11B and stand H for route 5B on all journeys). Access to St Stephens Street during the current reconstruction works is available from the Bus Station, by a short walk via either Surrey Street or Queens Road with pedestrian crossings at Surrey Street or outside Chantry Place shopping centre.

UPDATED - X3 - emergency diversion in place due to A11 lane closures - morning commuter journey - due to long delays on the A11 from Tues 17th May this journey will pick up at GREAT ELLINGHAM Hingham Rd and then be diverted via Hingham and Wicklewood. We would like to apologise for the disruption being caused.

5B - SUTTON, Yarmouth Road - 18th until 31st May 2022 - due to power line replacement works , Yarmouth Road in Sutton will be closed. Buses on route 5B will be diverted via Staithe Road. Bus stops at Elmhurst Avenue will not be served.

Castle Meadow - bus stop relocation
CASTLE MEADOW - due to transforming cities work in St Stephens Street and subsequent increase in bus stop congestion in Castle Meadow, the bus stop for routes 8 (towards Dereham) and P&R 501/502 (Harford/Thickthorn) will be relocated to outside the Castle Quarter shopping Centre, Castle Meadow entrance and P&R 501/502 (Airport/Sprowston) opposite.

Buses to Thickthorn after 1800hrs are operated by route 8 which departs Castle Meadow [CX] at 1814, 1844, 1914, 2014, 2114 and 2214, and Norwich Bus Station [A] at 1820, 1850, 1920, 2020, 2120 and 2220.

In order to keep traffic flowing on University Drive the route 511 bus stop has been temporarily moved from stand C to the layby on University Drive (before the mini roundabout near the security hut).
