Generation Go Workshop in partnership with Build
1 year ago

On Saturday 8th June, our team delivered a workshop with Build Charity in Norwich for a small group of adults with disabilities and enhanced needs. All participants had previous experience of using buses, but regularly rely on taxis which are very expensive even for short journeys.
As concessionary pass-holders, the participants can travel by bus for free, but prior to the workshop were unaware of our mobile app or how to use it.
During the session, our team went through how to plan journeys and buy tickets using our online resources, meaning that they can teach others how to buy in advance so they can use the bus with them!
The workshop also covered tips on how to be prepared at the bus stop, how to catch the bus and how to respect others onboard and helped the participants to download the app onto their phone and set up favourite stops. They were also introduced to the Rewards section of the app to demonstrate what our rewards partners have to offer, as well as the ideas for Things to Do on the Konectbus network.

To put their new skills into practice, the participants also completed a journey-planning activity to travel from Tombland to the Nest on the Canary Konect number 35 before actually catching the bus to have a well-deserved pitstop!
James Kearns, Chief Executive of Build Charity, said that the feedback from the session had all been positive, and we are very happy that the participants enjoyed the workshop and their trip on the 35!
