Service Updates from 30th March

Service Changes from Sunday 30th March 2025

We’ve reviewed our services to better support our passengers, ensuring you can get where you need to go more easily. As a result, we’re introducing key improvements and adjustments across our network.

Key Changes
  • Route 8 (timetable) – Will run every 20 minutes between Toftwood, Dereham, and Norwich City Centre (Monday to Saturday) and every 30 minutes on Sundays. North Tuddenham will now have service seven days a week.
  • Route 13 (timetable) – A new service between Dereham and Swanton Morley, replacing Route 4.
  • Route 4 (timetable) – Extended further into Longwater Retail Park, with the last bus from Norwich now at 22:00, giving you more time in the city.
  • City5 (timetable) – Increased frequency to every 30 minutes (Monday to Saturday), plus a new evening and Sunday timetable.
  • City 11B & 11C (timetable) – Will run every 30 minutes, including peak periods.
  • Routes 4 & 11 (timetable) – Extended in Dereham to serve Brookes Drive and Sandy Lane Estates every 30 minutes, providing new cross-town connections.
  • Route 717 (timetable) – Will operate Monday to Saturday, including up to four peak-time journeys per day.
  • Route 5B (timetable) – Now extended to Eaton (replacing 6B) and serving Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.
     
  • For Norwich Park and Ride services (Routes 501, 502, and 503), visit www.norwichparkandride.co.uk for timetables and fares. Konectbus will no longer operate these routes from Sunday 30th March 2025.

    We ask that passengers with 10-day ticket bundles use these by 30th March 2025. These tickets are not transferable to the new operators.

Route-by-route Updates

Route 1

  • New peak-time journeys connecting with trains to and from London at Diss.
    Start Date: 30th March 2025

Routes 3, 3B, 3C

  • Timetable adjustments for better reliability.
  • Additional 3C journeys replacing withdrawn Route 15 at Carbrooke village.
    Start Date: 31st March 2025

Route 4

  • Section between Swanton Morley and Dereham withdrawn and replaced by new Route 13.
  • Last bus from Norwich now at 22:00 (following passenger feedback).
  • Additional stop at Longwater Retail Park (Pizza Hut) for easier access.
  • Evening and Sunday services will continue or start at Swanton Morley.
  • Brookes Drive (New Scarning) and Sandy Lane Estates now served, offering cross-town links to Yaxham Road retail area.
    Start Date: 30th March 2025

City 5

  • Increased to every 30 minutes (Monday to Saturday).
  • New evening journeys, with the last bus from Norwich at 22:10.
  • New Sunday service introduced.
    Start Date: 30th March 2025

Route 5B – Broads Bus

  • Extended to serve Eaton (replacing 6B), Cringleford, and Norfolk & Norwich Hospital on most journeys.
  • More Sunday buses to Stalham, Ludham, and Horning.
    Start Date: 30th March 2025

Route 6A - Withdrawn

  • Withdrawn and partly replaced by new Route 60.
    Start Date: 31st March 2025

Route 6B - Withdrawn

  • Withdrawn and replaced by extended Route 5B, which now includes a direct link to Norfolk & Norwich Hospital.
    Start Date: 30th March 2025

Routes 8 & 8A

  • Increased to every 20 minutes (Monday to Saturday).
  • First bus from Toftwood at 05:48, last bus from Norwich Rail Station at 23:20.
  • Sunday service increased to run every 30 minutes.
  • North Tuddenham now served hourly, seven days a week.
    Start Date: 30th March 2025

Route 60

  • New service replacing Routes X6 and 6A.
  • Off-peak journeys now serving Little Melton.
    Start Date: 31st March 2025

Route 13

  • New route replacing Route 4 between Swanton Morley and Dereham.
  • Some peak-time, evening, and Sunday journeys will extend to Norfolk & Norwich Hospital and Norwich City Centre.
    Start Date: 31st March 2025

Route 30A

  • Adjusted to better serve Drayton & Thorpe Marriott, including Windsor Chase.
  • New first and last journeys to and from Lyng, providing a daily service to Norwich.
    Start Date: 31st March 2025

Route 35 – Canary Konect

  • Timetable adjusted for better connections with London trains at Norwich Station and improved arrival times at The Nest for activities.
  • Earlier and later services added (Monday to Saturday).
  • New football special on Saturday match days (15:00 kick-off), departing Norwich Rail Station at 17:30.
    Start Date: 30th March 2025

Route 81

  • Now serving Thetford Leisure Centre (Croxton Road) on all journeys following passenger feedback.
  • More journeys added, with onward connections at Thetford to and from Bury St Edmunds.
    Start Date: 31st March 2025

Route 512

  • New section added serving Dereham Road, Larkman Lane, and Earlham Green Lane.
  • Provides direct links to Norfolk & Norwich Hospital, UEA, ASDA, and Hellesdon (Airport).
  • Additional later journey added.
    Start Date: 31st March 2025

Route 515 - Withdrawn

  • Withdrawn. Alternative service now provided via the revised Route 512.
    Start Date: 30th March 2025

Route 717 – Coastal Konect

  • Now operating Monday to Saturday with up to four daily journeys, including peak-time services.
    Start Date: 31st March 2025

Hethersett Academy Buses

  • Revised schedules for better reliability.
  • Route 5B replaces 6B, starting at N&N Hospital (08:05) and serving Cringleford before reaching Hethersett Academy.
  • Route 6 departs earlier (07:52) with revised stops before heading to the academy.
