Go East Anglia wins Silver Award at the UK Bus Awards
1 week ago
We are delighted to announce that our Generation Go initiative has been awarded the Silver Award for Marketing Campaign of the Year at the UK Bus Awards. This recognition reflects our dedication to empowering young people and adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) to travel confidently and independently on public transport.
Generation Go was developed to support individuals aged 5-19, as well as adults with SEND, by equipping them with the knowledge and confidence to feel safe and self-reliant when using buses. Through a blend of interactive workshops, bespoke educational materials, and practical on-bus experiences, we have provided participants with the skills to embrace bus travel. By placing accessibility, safety, and inclusivity at the heart of the initiative, Generation Go has ensured that public transport is a practical and welcoming option, even for those who might otherwise rely on cars.
To date, the initiative has directly reached hundreds of school-aged children, young people, and adults, empowering them to travel independently and confidently. At Konectbus - a part of Go East Anglia - we believe that access to safe and reliable public transport is a fundamental right, and we are committed to making it accessible for everyone, irrespective of age or ability.
This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the Go East Anglia team, the enthusiasm of our participants, and the invaluable support from schools, community organisations, and local partners. We are excited to continue building on the success of Generation Go, extending its reach to benefit even more individuals and fostering greater confidence and independence through bus travel.
We would like to thank everyone who has supported this initiative and shared in our vision of creating a more inclusive and accessible transport network for all.
“We are absolutely thrilled to receive this award for our Generation Go initiative. This campaign is at the heart of our mission to make public transport more accessible and inclusive for all. We’ve seen first-hand the positive impact that developing independence and gaining confidence in bus travel can have on the lives of young people and adults with SEND, and we are incredibly proud to be making a difference in our community
This award motivates us to continue driving innovation and inclusivity in public transport, ensuring everyone has access to the independence and opportunities that bus travel can offer.”
