Doggy Days Out By Bus
‘Are dogs allowed on your buses?’ – we get asked this question a lot, and the simple answer is: Yes! We understand that no family day out is truly complete without bringing along your furry friends, so why not check out ideas for great dog-walking trails below?
717 Norwich-Wroxham-Hemsby
Beginning on Saturdays from 29th June, the 717 is a brilliant choice for dog owners. From the beautiful How Hill at Ludham and the trails from Potter Heigham Bridge, to a long stroll along Hemsby beach itself, there are loads of great choices for dog walks at the seaside or along the Broads National Park.
5B Norwich-Wroxham-Stalham
Like the 717, this is a great option for a day out with your pooch. Why not try the Bittern Line Walk between Hoveton and Wroxham. This is an adventurous 5.8-mile trail along the water with lots of pup-friendly pubs and cafés for pitstops!
In Stalham, you can stroll from the busy High Street towards Sutton Fen woodlands and meadows. The route then takes you to Stalham Staithe where there are beautiful views across the waterways.
81 Watton-Thetford
Thetford is known for its open spaces and so there are plenty of choices for doggies! Butten Island offers a relaxing green space and a lovely canal walk along the river Ouse. There is also the option of Castle Park – dogs are allowed in the lower part by the river which makes for a beautiful walk, and there are lots of shaded grassy areas which are perfect for hot summer’s days. Close by is Melford Common, which offers another spacious green area and isn’t far from the town centre for your return journey.
The circular route around Neatherd Moor is one of the top dog walks in Dereham. At 3.4km, this is perfect for an afternoon stroll and takes you through some beautiful countryside. Neatherd Moor also has a playground area, which is great for children!
21/22/23 North Elmham
North Elmham is a lovely Norfolk village that lies just a short ride away from Dereham. If you fancy a jaunt with your pooch, the ruins of the old Norman chapel are really interesting and the meadow offers a lovely walk with great views.
